Your North East India adventure begins upon arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station. After meeting your driver, set out on a scenic journey towards Dirang, one of Arunachal Pradesh's most charming mountain towns.

The route gradually leaves behind the plains of Assam and enters the lush foothills of the Eastern Himalayas. After crossing Bhalukpong, the gateway to Arunachal Pradesh, travelers are welcomed by dense forests, winding mountain roads, and breathtaking river valleys.

Throughout the journey, the beautiful Kameng River accompanies you, creating spectacular landscapes perfect for photography. Traditional tribal villages, hanging bridges, pine forests, and mountain streams offer a fascinating glimpse into the unique culture and natural beauty of North East India.

By evening, arrive in Dirang, a picturesque valley town famous for its pleasant weather, apple orchards, hot water springs, and traditional Monpa culture. Surrounded by majestic mountains and pristine rivers, Dirang serves as the perfect introduction to Arunachal Pradesh.

After breakfast, begin one of the most memorable road journeys in India as you drive towards Tawang through dramatic Himalayan landscapes.

The road ascends steadily through alpine forests, high-altitude valleys, and snow-covered mountain ranges. Your first major stop is the spectacular Sela Pass, located at approximately 13,700 feet above sea level. Considered one of the highest motorable mountain passes in India, Sela Pass offers breathtaking panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and frozen landscapes.

Nearby lies the stunning Sela Lake, a sacred high-altitude lake surrounded by rugged mountains and colorful prayer flags. During winter, the lake often freezes completely, creating a magical spectacle.

Continue onward to the historic Jaswant Garh War Memorial, dedicated to Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat, whose extraordinary bravery during the 1962 Indo-China War remains legendary.

The drive continues through some of Arunachal Pradesh's most dramatic scenery before arriving in Tawang, the cultural and spiritual center of the region.

Situated at an altitude of over 15,000 feet, Bumla Pass is one of the most significant and awe-inspiring destinations in North East India. The stark mountain scenery, pristine environment, and strategic military importance make it a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Continue to the enchanting Sangetsar Lake, popularly known as Madhuri Lake after its appearance in a Bollywood film. The partially submerged tree trunks and crystal-clear waters create a surreal landscape unlike any other destination in India.
