Itinerary

Route: Bhuntar → Kasol

Approximate distance: 30–35 km

Estimated driving time: 1–1.5 hours

Meals: As per package inclusions

Arrival and Transfer to Kasol

Arrive at Bhuntar Airport or the designated arrival point, where you will meet your driver for the transfer to Kasol. Nestled in the beautiful Parvati Valley of Himachal Pradesh, Kasol is known for its riverside setting, forested hills, mountain views and relaxed travel atmosphere.

The drive from Bhuntar follows the valley towards Kasol, with stretches of the Parvati River, green slopes and small mountain settlements accompanying the route. As you approach the destination, the scenery becomes increasingly peaceful, offering a welcome introduction to the natural beauty of the Himalayas.

On reaching Kasol, check in to your selected accommodation, which may be a riverside hotel, boutique stay, guesthouse or hostel, depending on your preference and budget. Take some time to settle in, freshen up and enjoy the surroundings. If you have chosen a riverside property, you can relax in its outdoor seating area and enjoy the views, subject to the property's layout and river access.

Evening: Riverside Walk and Café Hopping

Spend the evening exploring Kasol at a leisurely pace. Take a walk through accessible riverside areas and enjoy the sound of flowing water against the backdrop of pine-covered hills. Choose designated walking paths and remain well away from fast-flowing water and slippery river rocks.

Later, head towards Kasol's popular café scene. The village has a variety of cafés and casual eateries serving coffee, baked goods, Indian dishes and international-inspired food. Whether you prefer a quiet café with mountain views or a lively spot to meet fellow travellers, the evening is an opportunity to soak up Kasol's easy-going atmosphere.

You can also explore the local market, where small shops sell souvenirs, woollen items, accessories and travel essentials. Enjoy dinner at a café or your accommodation before returning for a restful night.

Highlights: Scenic drive from Bhuntar, check-in at Kasol, Parvati River views, café hopping and local market exploration.

Overnight stay: Kasol

Route: Kasol → Barshaini → Tosh → Kasol

Approximate distance: 20–25 km from Kasol to Barshaini by road, one way; additional walking within Tosh

Estimated driving time: Around 45–75 minutes each way to Barshaini, depending on traffic and road conditions

Walking time: Allow approximately 1–2 hours or more for exploring the village and its trails, depending on your pace

Meals: Breakfast

Morning: Drive Through Parvati Valley to Barshaini

After breakfast, set out for an excursion to Tosh, one of the best-known mountain villages in Parvati Valley. The drive from Kasol passes through the valley towards Barshaini, a small settlement that serves as an access point for Tosh and several walking routes in the surrounding region.

Enjoy the changing landscape along the way, including river views, terraced slopes, forested hills and traditional mountain settlements. The route is scenic but can be narrow in places, so travel time may vary according to road conditions and local traffic.

On reaching Barshaini, continue towards Tosh using the available local transport or walk along the approach route, depending on vehicle access and your chosen arrangement. The final stretch can involve uphill walking, uneven surfaces and steep sections, so comfortable footwear is recommended.

Late Morning: Explore Tosh Village

Located high above the valley, Tosh offers sweeping views of the surrounding Himalayan mountains and a quieter atmosphere than the busier parts of Kasol. The village is known for its traditional homes, narrow lanes, guesthouses and small cafés that attract travellers looking to spend time in a mountain setting.

Walk through the village at a comfortable pace and take in the views of the surrounding slopes. Depending on the weather and visibility, you may see dramatic mountain ridges and snow-covered peaks in the distance. Photography enthusiasts will find plenty of opportunities to capture the village landscape, local architecture and changing mountain light.

The village is best explored without rushing. Pause at a café for refreshments, enjoy a simple lunch if desired and take time to appreciate the natural surroundings.

Afternoon: Café Time and Optional Short Walks

Spend the afternoon enjoying Tosh's café culture and peaceful mountain atmosphere. Many travellers visit for the views as much as for the village itself, so allow yourself time to relax rather than packing the day with activities.

If weather, daylight and trail conditions permit, you may explore a nearby village path or short walking route. Choose only a route appropriate to your fitness level and avoid continuing onto longer or remote trails without suitable preparation or local guidance. Mountain weather can change quickly, and some paths may become slippery after rain or snow.

Return to Kasol or Optional Overnight Stay in Tosh

In the late afternoon, return to Barshaini and continue by road to Kasol. An early return is recommended to allow sufficient daylight for the journey.

Travellers seeking a more immersive mountain experience can choose an optional overnight stay in Tosh instead of returning to Kasol. This upgrade may be particularly appealing to those who enjoy quiet village evenings, mountain views and a slower travel pace. Accommodation in Tosh is generally more limited than in larger tourist towns, so confirm room availability, facilities, hot water, heating and road access before booking.

Highlights: Scenic Parvati Valley drive, Barshaini, Tosh village walk, mountain viewpoints, café stops and optional overnight stay in Tosh.

Overnight stay: Kasol or Tosh, depending on the selected package

Route: Kasol → Manikaran Sahib → Manali

Approximate distance: Around 5 km from Kasol to Manikaran, followed by approximately 75–85 km to Manali

Estimated driving time: Around 15–25 minutes from Kasol to Manikaran, followed by approximately 2.5–4 hours to Manali, depending on conditions

Meals: Breakfast

Morning: Breakfast and Visit to Manikaran Sahib

Enjoy breakfast before checking out of your accommodation. Begin the day with a visit to Manikaran Sahib, an important Sikh pilgrimage destination located in Parvati Valley, close to Kasol.

The Gurudwara is known for its spiritual significance, welcoming atmosphere and community kitchen, where langar is served according to the Gurudwara's arrangements. Visitors can spend time in prayer, observe the devotional traditions and learn about the site's importance to pilgrims from different parts of the country.

Manikaran is also famous for its natural hot springs, whose warm water contrasts with the cool mountain environment. The hot springs are a distinctive feature of the area, although bathing arrangements and access can vary. Follow local instructions, respect religious customs and cover your head when entering the Gurudwara premises.

Allow enough time to explore the complex and its surroundings without rushing through the visit.

Afternoon: Scenic Drive to Manali

After your visit, begin the journey to Manali. The route follows the mountain roads through the Kullu region, with views of river valleys, forested slopes, small settlements and the changing Himalayan landscape.

Depending on traffic and road conditions, the drive may take approximately 2.5–4 hours. A refreshment or lunch stop can be arranged along the way, subject to your transport schedule.

On arrival in Manali, check in to your hotel and relax after the journey. Manali offers a different atmosphere from Kasol, with a wider choice of hotels, restaurants, shopping areas and sightseeing attractions. The destination is also a convenient base for exploring Solang Valley and nearby mountain landscapes.

Evening: Leisure at the Hotel

Keep the evening free to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. You may relax at the hotel, enjoy a meal at an in-house restaurant or take a short walk near your accommodation if time permits.

If you still have energy, you can explore a nearby café or local market, but avoid scheduling too much after the transfer. A relaxed evening will help you prepare for the outdoor activities planned for the following day.

Overnight stay in Manali.

Highlights: Manikaran Sahib, natural hot springs, spiritual and cultural experiences, scenic drive through Kullu Valley and hotel check-in in Manali.

Route: Manali → Solang Valley → optional Atal Tunnel → optional Sissu → Manali

Approximate travel time: Solang Valley: 30–45 minutes one way; Atal Tunnel and Sissu excursion: approximately 3–5 hours of additional driving, depending on stops and road conditions

After breakfast, get ready for a memorable mountain excursion to Solang Valley, one of the most popular destinations near Manali for outdoor recreation and panoramic Himalayan views.

Surrounded by towering mountain slopes and wide-open scenery, Solang Valley offers a striking landscape in every season. During warmer months, visitors can enjoy green meadows and mountain viewpoints, while winter may bring snow-covered surroundings when weather conditions permit.

Spend time exploring the valley, admiring the scenery and taking photographs. Travellers seeking an adventurous experience can consider optional activities such as paragliding, ATV rides or seasonal snow recreation, depending on availability and local operating conditions.

Adventure activities are generally payable separately unless included in the confirmed package. Availability, age restrictions, weight limits and safety requirements vary by activity and operator. Snow activities are seasonal and should not be promised outside suitable conditions.

Optional Excursion to Atal Tunnel and Sissu

If road conditions, permits where applicable and the day's schedule allow, extend your excursion towards Atal Tunnel, an engineering landmark connecting the Manali side with the Lahaul Valley.

The drive provides a fascinating transition from the greener Kullu Valley to the more rugged and open landscapes of Lahaul. If time permits, continue towards Sissu, a picturesque village known for its mountain views and dramatic valley scenery.

The Sissu visit is optional and should be confirmed with your driver or tour operator before departure. Road restrictions, weather, traffic and local regulations may affect access and timings.

Return to Manali by evening and enjoy some well-earned relaxation at your hotel.
