Itinerary

Your Rajasthan tour package begins with your arrival in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan and one of India's most celebrated heritage destinations. Depending on your arrival schedule, your driver or tour representative will meet you at Jaipur International Airport or Jaipur Railway Station and assist you with the transfer to your hotel.

Jaipur is popularly known as the Pink City because of the distinctive pink-coloured architecture of its historic centre. Once you have checked into your hotel and had some time to freshen up, the remainder of the day can be kept relaxed so that you can settle into the city without rushing between attractions.

In the evening, begin your introduction to Jaipur with a visit to the iconic Hawa Mahal, one of Rajasthan's most recognisable architectural landmarks. The five-storey façade, decorated with numerous jharokhas, was designed to allow royal women to observe activity in the streets while remaining screened from public view. Rajasthan Tourism identifies Hawa Mahal as one of Jaipur's defining attractions. Rajasthan Tourism

After Hawa Mahal, continue towards the colourful markets of the old city. Johari Bazaar is associated with jewellery and traditional crafts, while Bapu Bazaar is known for textiles, handicrafts, traditional clothing, souvenirs and local shopping. You can spend the evening browsing the shops, enjoying local snacks or simply taking in the atmosphere of the old city.

If your arrival is late, the evening sightseeing can be adjusted according to your flight or train timings.

Approximate local travel: 10–20 km depending on hotel and arrival point

Approximate driving time: 30 minutes–1.5 hours, depending on traffic and arrival location

Overnight: Jaipur

After breakfast, set out for a full day of Jaipur sightseeing covering some of the city's most important historical monuments.

Begin with Amber Fort (Amer Fort), located approximately 11 km from central Jaipur. Built on a hill overlooking the surrounding landscape, the fort combines Rajput and Mughal architectural influences and contains courtyards, palaces, gardens and the famous Sheesh Mahal. Rajasthan Tourism and Incredible India both place Amber Fort among Jaipur's principal heritage attractions. Rajasthan Tourism+1

Depending on availability and your preference, the ascent can be experienced by vehicle/jeep or through permitted visitor options. Any elephant-related activity should be treated as optional and subject to current local regulations, availability and animal-welfare requirements.

After exploring Amber Fort, continue towards the historic centre of Jaipur. A short stop at Jal Mahal can be included for photographs from the roadside viewpoint before continuing towards the walled city.

Next, visit City Palace Jaipur, a sprawling royal complex containing courtyards, gateways, museums and architectural elements that combine Rajput and Mughal traditions. The complex continues to be associated with Jaipur's former royal family, with public museum areas displaying royal clothing, manuscripts, weapons and other historical objects. Rajasthan Tourism

Continue to Jantar Mantar, the historic astronomical observatory built under Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Its monumental astronomical instruments demonstrate the scientific knowledge and architectural ingenuity of the period. Jantar Mantar is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rajasthan Tourism

Depending on your pace, you can finish the afternoon with additional shopping, a café visit or leisure time at the hotel.

Approximate Jaipur sightseeing distance: 30–45 km

Approximate driving time: 2–3 hours excluding sightseeing and traffic

Overnight: Jaipur

Distance: Approximately 330–340 km
Travel Time: Approximately 5–6 hours by road, depending on traffic and stops
Overnight Stay: Jodhpur

Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at your hotel in Jaipur before checking out and starting your journey towards Jodhpur, famously known as the Blue City of Rajasthan.

The drive from Jaipur to Jodhpur takes you through the changing landscapes of Rajasthan, from the colourful streets and urban surroundings of Jaipur to the more arid terrain of the Marwar region. The journey takes approximately 5–6 hours, making it ideal to plan a few comfortable breaks along the way.

On arrival in Jodhpur, check in to your hotel and take some time to relax after the drive. Since the day is intentionally kept light, there is no packed sightseeing schedule.

In the evening, you can explore the lively local markets around the Clock Tower and Sardar Market. Browse through colourful textiles, handicrafts, spices, traditional footwear and other Rajasthani souvenirs. Alternatively, simply relax at your hotel and enjoy a peaceful evening after the journey.

Families and senior travellers can use this evening to rest and prepare for the following day's sightseeing.

Overnight stay in Jodhpur.

Local Sightseeing: Approximately 15–25 km
Overnight Stay: Jodhpur

After breakfast, set out for a relaxed sightseeing tour of Jodhpur, one of Rajasthan's most fascinating historic cities.

Begin with the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, dramatically situated above the old city. One of Rajasthan's most impressive forts, Mehrangarh offers spectacular views over Jodhpur's famous blue-painted houses. Explore its grand courtyards, royal palaces, intricately decorated rooms, galleries and historic collections while learning about the legacy of the Rathore rulers.

Continue to Jaswant Thada, an elegant white-marble cenotaph built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Surrounded by landscaped gardens and peaceful surroundings, the monument provides a pleasant contrast to the imposing fort.

For travellers interested in royal history, an optional visit to the Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum can be included. The museum offers an insight into the lifestyle and heritage of Jodhpur's former royal family and showcases a collection of artefacts, photographs, clocks and other historical objects.

The rest of the afternoon can be kept relaxed. Return to the hotel, enjoy some leisure time or explore a nearby café or restaurant at your own pace.

In the evening, you may choose to enjoy a rooftop dinner with views of Mehrangarh Fort and the old city.

Overnight stay in Jodhpur.

Distance: Approximately 280–285 km
Travel Time: Approximately 5–6 hours by road
Overnight Stay: Jaisalmer

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin your journey from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer, travelling deeper into the landscapes of western Rajasthan.

The route takes you through the dry and scenic terrain of the Thar Desert region, with traditional villages, open landscapes and increasingly desert-like surroundings along the way. The journey takes approximately 5–6 hours, including suitable comfort breaks.

Arrive in Jaisalmer, famously known as the Golden City of Rajasthan, because of the warm golden-yellow colour of its sandstone architecture.

Check into your hotel and take the rest of the day to relax. After the road journey, keeping the evening free allows you to enjoy the destination without feeling rushed.

If you are travelling with children or senior family members, this is an ideal opportunity to rest at the hotel. Alternatively, you can take a gentle evening walk through the local market and discover Jaisalmer's traditional handicrafts, embroidered textiles, leather products and colourful souvenirs.

Enjoy dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant before settling in for the night.

Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.

Jaisalmer to Sam Sand Dunes: Approximately 40–45 km
Travel Time: Approximately 1–1.5 hours
Overnight Stay: Desert Camp

After breakfast, begin your sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer, starting with the city's most iconic attraction, Jaisalmer Fort.

Also known as Sonar Qila or the Golden Fort, this magnificent sandstone fort rises above the city and appears to change colour as the sunlight moves across its walls. Explore its historic lanes, royal structures, temples, ornate residences and traditional shops while experiencing the unique atmosphere of a living fort.

Continue to Patwon Ki Haveli, an impressive collection of elaborately carved merchant mansions. The detailed balconies, windows and sandstone façades demonstrate the extraordinary craftsmanship for which Jaisalmer is famous.

After sightseeing and lunch, leave the city and drive towards Sam Sand Dunes, one of the most popular desert areas near Jaisalmer.

On arrival, check into your desert camp and enjoy some time to relax before your evening desert experience.

Later, enjoy a short and easy camel ride across the sand dunes. This can be particularly enjoyable for families and first-time visitors who want to experience the Thar Desert without an extended camel safari. The camel ride can be planned around sunset, when the desert takes on beautiful golden and orange tones.

As evening arrives, return to the camp and enjoy a traditional Rajasthani cultural programme, featuring folk music and dance performances. A campfire and authentic Rajasthani dinner complete the desert experience.

Spend the night in your comfortable desert camp, surrounded by the peaceful landscape of the Thar.

Overnight stay at a desert camp near Sam Sand Dunes.

Travel: Long-distance transfer
Recommended Option: Flight, subject to schedule and availability
Overnight Stay: Udaipur

After breakfast at the desert camp, check out and begin your journey towards Udaipur, the beautiful City of Lakes.

This is the longest and most logistically demanding transfer of the itinerary if undertaken entirely by road. Travelling from Jaisalmer to Udaipur by road involves a substantial journey, so for families, senior travellers and guests looking for a more comfortable holiday, a flight connection is recommended where a suitable schedule is available.

If travelling by road, the journey can be planned with appropriate breaks and meal stops. The route offers changing views of western Rajasthan as the desert landscape gradually gives way to the greener and more mountainous scenery of the Aravalli region.

On reaching Udaipur, check into your hotel and take the remainder of the day to relax.

If you arrive early enough and feel comfortable after the journey, enjoy a leisurely evening beside Lake Pichola or have dinner at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the lake.

Otherwise, simply unwind at your hotel and prepare for the final day of sightseeing.

Overnight stay in Udaipur.
Local Sightseeing: Approximately 10–20 km
Departure: Udaipur Airport / Railway Station

After breakfast, begin your final day with a sightseeing tour of Udaipur, one of India's most romantic and picturesque cities.

Start with the magnificent City Palace Udaipur, an extensive royal complex overlooking Lake Pichola. Explore its grand courtyards, balconies, galleries, royal chambers and beautifully decorated interiors, which showcase the rich heritage of the Mewar dynasty.

Next, visit Saheliyon Ki Bari, a beautifully landscaped historic garden known for its fountains, marble features, lawns and peaceful atmosphere. It is an excellent stop for families and travellers who want a slower-paced experience after several days of fort and palace sightseeing.

If your departure schedule allows, enjoy an optional boat ride on Lake Pichola. The boat ride offers wonderful views of the City Palace, lake palaces, ghats and surrounding hills, making it one of the most memorable ways to experience Udaipur.

You can also use your remaining time for a leisurely lunch or some last-minute shopping for traditional Rajasthani handicrafts, miniature paintings, textiles and souvenirs.

Later, proceed to Udaipur Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.

Your Rajasthan holiday comes to an end with wonderful memories of the royal heritage of Jodhpur, the golden architecture of Jaisalmer, the magic of the Thar Desert and the lakes and palaces of Udaipur.

Tour ends with onward departure from Udaipur.
