Take some time to appreciate the temple’s craftsmanship, enjoy a gentle walk through the surrounding woodland and capture photographs of this beautiful setting.

Continue to Vashisht Temple, located in the village of Vashisht near Manali. Known for its traditional architecture and natural hot springs, the village offers a glimpse into local customs and mountain life. Visitors can explore the temple complex and nearby lanes, browse small local shops and enjoy views of the surrounding hills. Access to bathing facilities and their operating arrangements may vary, so check locally if you wish to use them.

Afternoon: Scenic Drive from Manali to Kasol

After sightseeing, begin your journey to Kasol, a charming mountain destination nestled in the Parvati Valley. The drive generally takes around 2–3 hours, depending on road conditions, traffic and your exact starting and ending points. The route follows the Beas Valley towards Bhuntar before continuing along the Parvati River corridor.

Enjoy changing mountain scenery along the way, with forested slopes, riverside stretches, small settlements and glimpses of everyday life in Himachal Pradesh. As you approach Kasol, the landscape becomes increasingly associated with the Parvati River, pine-covered hills and the laid-back atmosphere of this popular Himalayan getaway.

Optional excursion: Manikaran Sahib

Approximate walking time: Around 1–2 hours for a relaxed out-and-back Chalal walk, depending on pace and trail conditions

Meals: Breakfast

Overnight stay: Kasol

Morning: Breakfast and the Chalal Village Walk

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before heading out to experience the natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere of Parvati Valley. Today is planned as a relaxed day, giving you time to enjoy the scenery rather than rushing between multiple destinations.

Begin with a walk towards Chalal Village, a small settlement reached from the Kasol area by a forest trail. The walk takes you through wooded surroundings, with views of the valley and the sound of the Parvati River accompanying parts of the route. It is a popular short outing for travellers who want to experience the quieter side of the region without committing to a full-day trek.

Take your time along the trail, stop at suitable viewpoints and enjoy the fresh mountain air. The path may be uneven, rocky or slippery after rain or snowfall, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Trail conditions and walking time can vary with weather, pace and the exact starting point. Follow local guidance and avoid walking close to exposed riverbanks.

Once you reach the Chalal area, enjoy the village atmosphere and surrounding mountain scenery before returning to Kasol. Keep the walk flexible so you have time to relax and enjoy the rest of the day.

Afternoon: Explore Kasol’s Cafés and Local Market

Return to Kasol and spend the afternoon exploring its cafés, small shops and relaxed gathering spots. You can stop for lunch, enjoy a hot drink with mountain views or browse the market for souvenirs and locally made items.

This is also a good opportunity to slow down and enjoy the destination without a fixed schedule. Depending on your interests, you may prefer a quiet café, a short walk through the village or some free time at your hotel. Travellers who enjoy photography can use this time to capture the surrounding hills, traditional buildings and everyday scenes of life in the valley.

Optional Excursion: Manikaran Sahib

If you would like to include another cultural and spiritual experience, take an optional excursion to Manikaran Sahib, a prominent Sikh pilgrimage site located a short drive from Kasol. The Gurudwara is known for its religious significance, community kitchen or langar, and natural hot springs in the surrounding area.

Visitors can spend time at the complex, observe the devotional atmosphere and learn about the site's importance to pilgrims. Please dress respectfully, follow the Gurudwara’s visitor guidelines and cover your head inside the premises. If you plan to visit during a busy period, allow extra time for traffic and parking.

The excursion is optional and can be included according to your interests, available time and road conditions. If you prefer a slower day, remain in Kasol and enjoy more time by the river or at a café.

Evening: Relax by the Parvati River

Return to Kasol and enjoy a peaceful final evening in Parvati Valley. Depending on your hotel location, you can relax in the property’s outdoor seating area, enjoy the mountain views or take another short walk in a safe, accessible area.

As evening approaches, the valley takes on a quieter atmosphere, making it an ideal time to unwind after the day’s exploration. Enjoy dinner at your hotel or choose a local café before returning to your room.

Overnight stay in Kasol.

Highlights: Chalal Village walk, forest and valley scenery, Kasol cafés and market, optional Manikaran Sahib visit, and a relaxed evening in Parvati Valley.
