Itinerary

Your Rajasthan tour package begins with your arrival in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan and one of India's most celebrated heritage destinations. Depending on your arrival schedule, your driver or tour representative will meet you at Jaipur International Airport or Jaipur Railway Station and assist you with the transfer to your hotel.

Jaipur is popularly known as the Pink City because of the distinctive pink-coloured architecture of its historic centre. Once you have checked into your hotel and had some time to freshen up, the remainder of the day can be kept relaxed so that you can settle into the city without rushing between attractions.

In the evening, begin your introduction to Jaipur with a visit to the iconic Hawa Mahal, one of Rajasthan's most recognisable architectural landmarks. The five-storey façade, decorated with numerous jharokhas, was designed to allow royal women to observe activity in the streets while remaining screened from public view. Rajasthan Tourism identifies Hawa Mahal as one of Jaipur's defining attractions. Rajasthan Tourism

After Hawa Mahal, continue towards the colourful markets of the old city. Johari Bazaar is associated with jewellery and traditional crafts, while Bapu Bazaar is known for textiles, handicrafts, traditional clothing, souvenirs and local shopping. You can spend the evening browsing the shops, enjoying local snacks or simply taking in the atmosphere of the old city.

If your arrival is late, the evening sightseeing can be adjusted according to your flight or train timings.

Approximate local travel: 10–20 km depending on hotel and arrival point

Approximate driving time: 30 minutes–1.5 hours, depending on traffic and arrival location

Overnight: Jaipur

After breakfast, set out for a full day of Jaipur sightseeing covering some of the city's most important historical monuments.

Begin with Amber Fort (Amer Fort), located approximately 11 km from central Jaipur. Built on a hill overlooking the surrounding landscape, the fort combines Rajput and Mughal architectural influences and contains courtyards, palaces, gardens and the famous Sheesh Mahal. Rajasthan Tourism and Incredible India both place Amber Fort among Jaipur's principal heritage attractions. Rajasthan Tourism+1

Depending on availability and your preference, the ascent can be experienced by vehicle/jeep or through permitted visitor options. Any elephant-related activity should be treated as optional and subject to current local regulations, availability and animal-welfare requirements.

After exploring Amber Fort, continue towards the historic centre of Jaipur. A short stop at Jal Mahal can be included for photographs from the roadside viewpoint before continuing towards the walled city.

Next, visit City Palace Jaipur, a sprawling royal complex containing courtyards, gateways, museums and architectural elements that combine Rajput and Mughal traditions. The complex continues to be associated with Jaipur's former royal family, with public museum areas displaying royal clothing, manuscripts, weapons and other historical objects. Rajasthan Tourism

Continue to Jantar Mantar, the historic astronomical observatory built under Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Its monumental astronomical instruments demonstrate the scientific knowledge and architectural ingenuity of the period. Jantar Mantar is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rajasthan Tourism

Depending on your pace, you can finish the afternoon with additional shopping, a café visit or leisure time at the hotel.

Approximate Jaipur sightseeing distance: 30–45 km

Approximate driving time: 2–3 hours excluding sightseeing and traffic

Overnight: Jaipur

Distance: Approximately 170–185 km
Travel Time: Approximately 3.5–4 hours by road
Overnight Stay: Mandawa

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Jaipur and begin your journey towards Mandawa, a charming heritage town in Rajasthan's Shekhawati region. The drive takes you through the semi-arid landscapes of northern Rajasthan, with small villages, traditional settlements and changing desert scenery along the way.

On arrival in Mandawa, check into your heritage hotel and take some time to relax before beginning your sightseeing tour.

Mandawa is famous for its magnificent painted havelis and colourful frescoes, which earned the Shekhawati region the reputation of being an open-air art gallery. Begin your exploration with Mandawa Fort, an impressive 18th-century fort known for its beautiful architecture, ornate interiors and historic atmosphere.

Continue with a walking tour through the old town to discover some of Mandawa's beautifully decorated havelis. Look out for intricate frescoes depicting scenes from mythology, royal life, animals, traditional occupations and even influences from the colonial period. The narrow lanes and richly decorated façades provide a fascinating glimpse into the prosperous merchant families who once lived here.

You can also visit prominent havelis such as Murmuria Haveli and Hanuman Prasad Goenka Haveli, subject to local access and opening arrangements.

Spend the evening at leisure. You may explore the local market, enjoy traditional Rajasthani cuisine at your heritage hotel or simply relax in the historic surroundings.

Distance: Approximately 190 km
Travel Time: Approximately 3–4 hours by road
Overnight Stay: Bikaner

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before checking out and continuing your Rajasthan road journey towards Bikaner, one of the historic cities of the former princely state of Marwar.

The drive from Mandawa to Bikaner takes you deeper into Rajasthan's arid landscape. As you travel westwards, the scenery gradually changes, with increasingly sparse vegetation and desert-like terrain.

Upon arrival in Bikaner, check into your hotel and relax before setting out for sightseeing.

Begin with Junagarh Fort, one of Bikaner's most remarkable architectural landmarks. Unlike many of Rajasthan's famous forts, Junagarh was constructed on the plains rather than on a hill. Its grand courtyards, ornate palaces, balconies and richly decorated interiors showcase the artistic and architectural traditions of the former Bikaner royal family.

Continue your sightseeing with a visit to Lalgarh Palace, an impressive red sandstone palace reflecting a fascinating blend of traditional Rajput architecture and European influences. If time permits, you can also explore the old city and its colourful markets.

Bikaner is also renowned for its culinary traditions. The evening is an excellent opportunity to sample local specialities such as Bikaneri bhujia, traditional sweets and Rajasthani snacks.

Return to your hotel after sightseeing and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Upon reaching Jaisalmer, popularly known as the Golden City, check into your hotel and take some time to rest after the journey.

Later in the afternoon or evening, visit Gadisar Lake, a historic water reservoir surrounded by temples, shrines, gateways and beautifully carved structures. The lake is particularly attractive around sunset, when the warm light complements Jaisalmer's golden sandstone architecture.

Afterwards, take a leisurely stroll through the local markets. Jaisalmer is known for its colourful textiles, mirror work, handicrafts, leather products, puppets and sandstone souvenirs.

Return to your hotel for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Continue to Patwon Ki Haveli, one of the city's most impressive merchant haveli complexes. Its intricately carved sandstone balconies, windows and façades demonstrate the extraordinary craftsmanship of Jaisalmer's traditional artisans.

You can then visit Nathmal Ki Haveli and Salim Singh Ki Haveli, depending on the available sightseeing time.

After lunch, leave the city behind and drive towards Sam Sand Dunes, one of the most popular desert areas near Jaisalmer.

Check into your desert camp and enjoy some time surrounded by the vast landscapes of the Thar Desert. As the afternoon temperature becomes more comfortable, embark on a camel safari across the sand dunes and experience the changing colours of the desert during sunset.

For travellers looking for additional adventure, activities such as dune-bashing or a jeep safari can be arranged depending on the selected camp and local conditions.

As night falls, the desert comes alive with traditional Rajasthani entertainment. Enjoy folk music, traditional dance performances, a campfire and an authentic Rajasthani dinner beneath the desert sky.

This desert camping experience is one of the highlights of the Rajasthan tour and offers a memorable combination of adventure, culture and traditional hospitality.

After some time to relax, begin exploring the city.

Depending on your arrival time, visit the magnificent Umaid Bhawan Palace, one of India's most impressive royal residences and a symbol of Jodhpur's royal heritage. Alternatively, explore the lively streets surrounding Clock Tower and Sardar Market, where you can browse traditional handicrafts, textiles, spices, jewellery and local products.

Continue to the nearby Jagdish Temple, a historic temple renowned for its detailed stone carvings and traditional architecture.

Next, visit Saheliyon Ki Bari, a beautiful historic garden featuring fountains, marble structures, lawns and landscaped gardens. Originally associated with the royal women of Mewar, the garden offers a peaceful break from the city's bustling heritage attractions.
