Itinerary

Your Rajasthan tour package begins with your arrival in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan and one of India's most celebrated heritage destinations. Depending on your arrival schedule, your driver or tour representative will meet you at Jaipur International Airport or Jaipur Railway Station and assist you with the transfer to your hotel.

Jaipur is popularly known as the Pink City because of the distinctive pink-coloured architecture of its historic centre. Once you have checked into your hotel and had some time to freshen up, the remainder of the day can be kept relaxed so that you can settle into the city without rushing between attractions.

In the evening, begin your introduction to Jaipur with a visit to the iconic Hawa Mahal, one of Rajasthan's most recognisable architectural landmarks. The five-storey façade, decorated with numerous jharokhas, was designed to allow royal women to observe activity in the streets while remaining screened from public view. Rajasthan Tourism identifies Hawa Mahal as one of Jaipur's defining attractions. Rajasthan Tourism

After Hawa Mahal, continue towards the colourful markets of the old city. Johari Bazaar is associated with jewellery and traditional crafts, while Bapu Bazaar is known for textiles, handicrafts, traditional clothing, souvenirs and local shopping. You can spend the evening browsing the shops, enjoying local snacks or simply taking in the atmosphere of the old city.

If your arrival is late, the evening sightseeing can be adjusted according to your flight or train timings.

Approximate local travel: 10–20 km depending on hotel and arrival point

Approximate driving time: 30 minutes–1.5 hours, depending on traffic and arrival location

Overnight: Jaipur

After breakfast, set out for a full day of Jaipur sightseeing covering some of the city's most important historical monuments.

Begin with Amber Fort (Amer Fort), located approximately 11 km from central Jaipur. Built on a hill overlooking the surrounding landscape, the fort combines Rajput and Mughal architectural influences and contains courtyards, palaces, gardens and the famous Sheesh Mahal. Rajasthan Tourism and Incredible India both place Amber Fort among Jaipur's principal heritage attractions. Rajasthan Tourism+1

Depending on availability and your preference, the ascent can be experienced by vehicle/jeep or through permitted visitor options. Any elephant-related activity should be treated as optional and subject to current local regulations, availability and animal-welfare requirements.

After exploring Amber Fort, continue towards the historic centre of Jaipur. A short stop at Jal Mahal can be included for photographs from the roadside viewpoint before continuing towards the walled city.

Next, visit City Palace Jaipur, a sprawling royal complex containing courtyards, gateways, museums and architectural elements that combine Rajput and Mughal traditions. The complex continues to be associated with Jaipur's former royal family, with public museum areas displaying royal clothing, manuscripts, weapons and other historical objects. Rajasthan Tourism

Continue to Jantar Mantar, the historic astronomical observatory built under Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Its monumental astronomical instruments demonstrate the scientific knowledge and architectural ingenuity of the period. Jantar Mantar is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rajasthan Tourism

Depending on your pace, you can finish the afternoon with additional shopping, a café visit or leisure time at the hotel.

Approximate Jaipur sightseeing distance: 30–45 km

Approximate driving time: 2–3 hours excluding sightseeing and traffic

Overnight: Jaipur

After breakfast, check out from your Jaipur hotel and begin your road journey to Jodhpur, popularly known as the Blue City.

The Jaipur-to-Jodhpur journey covers approximately 330–340 km by road and generally takes around 5.5 to 6.5 hours, depending on the route, traffic, road conditions and breaks.

Rather than treating the journey simply as a transfer, this drive gives you an opportunity to observe Rajasthan's changing landscape as you move from the Jaipur region towards western Rajasthan. The scenery gradually becomes drier and more arid as you approach the Thar region.

On arrival in Jodhpur, check into your hotel and take some time to relax. If you arrive with sufficient daylight and energy, head towards the historic Clock Tower and Sardar Market area.

The market area is particularly atmospheric in the evening, with shops selling spices, handicrafts, textiles, traditional items and local food. It is also an excellent place to experience the everyday character of Jodhpur beyond its monumental attractions.

Return to your hotel after exploring the market area and relax for the evening.

Jaipur to Jodhpur: approximately 330–340 km

Approximate travel time: 5.5–6.5 hours by road, excluding extended breaks

Overnight: Jodhpur

Enjoy breakfast and begin your Jodhpur sightseeing tour.

Your first major attraction is Mehrangarh Fort, one of the most spectacular historic forts in Rajasthan. Rising above Jodhpur's old city, the fort offers panoramic views over the blue-painted houses below and contains courtyards, palaces, galleries, museums and historic collections.

Take time to explore the fort rather than rushing through it. Its architecture, massive defensive walls and royal interiors provide a detailed introduction to the history of the Marwar region.

Continue to Jaswant Thada, an elegant white-marble memorial surrounded by landscaped grounds. The peaceful setting provides a sharp contrast to the imposing scale of Mehrangarh Fort and makes it a pleasant place to pause before continuing your journey.

After sightseeing, return to your vehicle and begin the drive towards Jaisalmer, the Golden City of Rajasthan.

The Jodhpur-to-Jaisalmer road journey is approximately 280–290 km and generally takes around 5 to 6 hours, depending on traffic, road conditions and breaks. The route gradually transitions into the more arid landscapes associated with the Thar Desert.

On reaching Jaisalmer, check into your hotel and relax. If time permits, you can take an evening walk around the nearby market area or enjoy the view of the golden sandstone architecture illuminated after sunset.

Jodhpur to Jaisalmer: approximately 280–290 km

Approximate travel time: 5–6 hours by road

Overnight: Jaisalmer

After breakfast, begin your exploration of Jaisalmer, one of the most distinctive heritage cities in Rajasthan.

Your first major attraction is Jaisalmer Fort, also known as Sonar Qila or the Golden Fort. Built predominantly from golden-yellow sandstone, the fort rises dramatically above the surrounding city and remains an important living heritage precinct with residences, shops, temples, cafés and narrow historic lanes.

Spend time walking through the fort's lanes and exploring its architectural details. The golden sandstone changes appearance with the movement of sunlight, which is one of the reasons Jaisalmer is so strongly associated with its golden colour.

Continue to Patwon Ki Haveli, a collection of intricately carved historic mansions that showcase the craftsmanship and architectural style of wealthy merchant families in Jaisalmer.

After lunch, prepare for the next major experience of the trip—the Thar Desert camping experience.

Drive from Jaisalmer towards Sam Sand Dunes, located approximately 40–45 km from central Jaisalmer. The journey generally takes around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on your exact campsite and road conditions.

Upon reaching the desert camp, check in and enjoy some time in the desert surroundings. As the sun begins to descend, take a camel safari across the sand dunes and experience the changing colours of the desert landscape.

For travellers looking for additional adventure, an optional jeep safari/dune-bashing experience may be arranged, subject to local availability, operating conditions and additional charges.

As evening arrives, return to the camp and enjoy a traditional cultural programme featuring Rajasthani folk music and dance. Dinner is generally served at the camp, allowing you to experience local flavours in a distinctly desert setting.

The overnight desert camp is one of the defining experiences of this Jaisalmer tour package, combining the landscapes of the Thar Desert with Rajasthan's traditional music, food and hospitality.

Jaisalmer city to Sam Sand Dunes: approximately 40–45 km

Approximate travel time: 1–1.5 hours

Activities: Camel safari, optional jeep safari, sunset experience, folk dance, music and dinner

Overnight: Desert Camp at/near Sam Sand Dunes

After breakfast at your hotel in Jaisalmer, check out and begin your journey towards Udaipur, the enchanting City of Lakes. This is one of the longer road journeys of the Rajasthan itinerary, but it also provides an opportunity to experience the changing landscapes of Rajasthan—from the golden desert surroundings of Jaisalmer to the greener, hillier landscapes around Udaipur.

An early morning departure is recommended so that you can make the journey comfortably and reach Udaipur by evening.

Jaisalmer to Udaipur Road Journey

As you leave Jaisalmer, the spectacular sandstone architecture and desert landscape gradually give way to open countryside and rural Rajasthan. Along the way, you will pass through small towns and villages, with the scenery changing noticeably as you approach the Aravalli region.

Approximate distance: 466–530 km

Approximate driving time: 8–10 hours, excluding extended sightseeing/meal stops

Recommended departure: 6:00–7:00 AM

Travel mode: Private AC car / chauffeur-driven vehicle

Arrival in Udaipur & Hotel Check-in

On arrival in Udaipur, proceed to your selected hotel and complete the check-in formalities. After the long drive, take some time to relax and freshen up.

Udaipur offers a completely different atmosphere from Jaisalmer. Instead of vast desert landscapes, you will find tranquil lakes, historic palaces, colourful markets and the surrounding Aravalli hills.

If time permits, you can spend the evening at leisure around the old city or enjoy a relaxed dinner overlooking one of Udaipur's lakes. Guests interested in a more experiential evening can also consider an optional Lake Pichola boat ride, subject to operating timings and weather conditions.

Overnight stay: Udaipur

Begin your day early with breakfast at your hotel in Udaipur before setting out on a full-day excursion to Mount Abu, Rajasthan's only hill station. Located in the picturesque Aravalli Range, Mount Abu offers a refreshing change from the desert landscapes and historic cities experienced during the rest of your Rajasthan tour.

The journey from Udaipur to Mount Abu is approximately 160–165 km and generally takes around 3–3.5 hours by road, depending on traffic, weather and road conditions. An early departure is recommended so that you have sufficient time to explore the major attractions and return to Udaipur comfortably in the evening.

Udaipur to Mount Abu Scenic Drive
After breakfast, meet your chauffeur and begin your journey towards Mount Abu. As you leave Udaipur, the landscape gradually changes from the lakes and plains around the City of Lakes to the rocky terrain and forested stretches of the Aravalli hills.

The drive itself offers an interesting contrast to the landscapes encountered earlier on your Rajasthan itinerary. You can take a short refreshment break along the way before continuing towards Mount Abu.

Approximate distance: 160–165 km
Approximate travel time: 3–3.5 hours each way
Recommended departure: Around 6:00–7:00 AM
Mode of transport: Private AC vehicle

Visit the Dilwara Jain Temples
On arrival in Mount Abu, begin your sightseeing with a visit to the renowned Dilwara Jain Temples, one of the region's most remarkable examples of traditional marble craftsmanship.

Dating back to the medieval period, the temple complex is celebrated for its exceptionally detailed marble carvings. As you explore the complex, you can admire intricately carved pillars, ceilings, arches, domes and ornamental motifs, demonstrating the extraordinary craftsmanship of the artisans who created them.

The serene surroundings and elegant architecture make the Dilwara Temples an important cultural and religious attraction in Mount Abu. Visitors are expected to maintain appropriate decorum and follow the site's photography and visitor regulations.

Suggested visit duration: 1–1.5 hours.

Explore Nakki Lake
Continue to Nakki Lake, one of Mount Abu's most popular attractions and a pleasant place to relax after visiting the temples.
Surrounded by hills and rocky landscapes, the lake has a peaceful atmosphere and is particularly enjoyable for a leisurely stroll along the waterfront. You can spend some time exploring the surrounding area, browsing local shops or simply enjoying the views.

Depending on local operating conditions and availability, you may also choose an optional boat ride on Nakki Lake. The surrounding market area provides opportunities to purchase handicrafts, souvenirs and other local products.
Suggested visit duration: 1–1.5 hours.

Leisure & Lunch in Mount Abu
After sightseeing, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. You can use this time to relax and experience some of the local cuisine before beginning your return journey.
If time permits, you can also spend some leisure time around the Nakki Lake area or explore the nearby local market.

Return to Udaipur
After completing your Mount Abu sightseeing, begin the return journey to Udaipur in the afternoon.

The return journey takes approximately 3–3.5 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Since Mount Abu is a full-day excursion from Udaipur, an early start is recommended to ensure that the sightseeing schedule remains comfortable without making the return journey too late.

On arrival in Udaipur, return to your hotel and relax after the day's excursion.

Overnight stay: Udaipur

Wake up to your final morning in Udaipur and enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Today, explore some of the city's most celebrated attractions before proceeding to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.

Known as the City of Lakes, Udaipur is renowned for its magnificent palaces, historic Mewar architecture, beautiful lakes and scenic Aravalli surroundings. The day's sightseeing combines the city's royal heritage with its peaceful lakeside atmosphere.

Visit City Palace Udaipur

Begin your sightseeing with a visit to the magnificent City Palace Udaipur, one of the most important landmarks of the city.

Located on the eastern banks of Lake Pichola, the palace complex showcases the grandeur of the former Mewar kingdom. As you explore its courtyards, balconies, galleries, corridors and beautifully decorated interiors, you can discover the architectural and cultural heritage that makes Udaipur such an important destination on Rajasthan tours.

The palace also offers beautiful views over Lake Pichola and the surrounding historic neighbourhoods. Allow sufficient time to explore the complex rather than rushing through the visit.

Recommended visit duration: Approximately 2–3 hours.

Lake Pichola & Optional Boat Ride

After exploring City Palace, continue towards Lake Pichola, one of Udaipur's most iconic attractions.

The lake is surrounded by historic buildings, palaces, temples, ghats and the Aravalli hills, creating one of the most picturesque landscapes in Rajasthan. From the waterfront, you can enjoy views of the City Palace complex and the famous lake palaces.

For an enhanced Udaipur experience, you may opt for a boat ride on Lake Pichola. A boat ride allows you to appreciate the city's architecture from the water and offers excellent opportunities for photography.

If your schedule permits, a boat ride around sunset can be particularly beautiful. The optional activity remains subject to boat operating schedules, weather conditions and availability on the day.

Recommended duration: Approximately 45–60 minutes.

Visit Saheliyon Ki Bari

Continue your Udaipur sightseeing with a visit to Saheliyon Ki Bari, a historic garden known for its fountains, greenery, lotus pools, marble features and peaceful surroundings.

The garden provides a pleasant contrast to the grand architecture of City Palace. Walking through its landscaped pathways gives you an opportunity to experience a quieter side of Udaipur and learn more about the lifestyle and traditions associated with the royal household.

The visit is generally comfortable for families, couples and senior travellers and can be easily incorporated into a half-day Udaipur sightseeing programme.

Recommended visit duration: Approximately 45–60 minutes.

Departure from Udaipur

After completing your sightseeing, return to the hotel, collect your luggage and proceed for your onward journey.

Depending on your departure schedule, your chauffeur will transfer you to Maharana Pratap Airport, Udaipur, or Udaipur Railway Station.

If your flight or train is scheduled later in the evening, the sightseeing sequence can be adjusted according to the departure time. For early departures, the sightseeing programme can be shortened accordingly.

Your memorable Rajasthan tour package comes to an end in Udaipur after an incredible journey through Rajasthan's desert landscapes, historic cities, royal heritage and lakeside scenery.
