Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, begin your scenic drive towards Bhalukpong, a charming town situated on the border of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. As you leave behind the bustling city of Guwahati, the landscape gradually transforms into lush tea gardens, tropical forests, and picturesque countryside views.

Bhalukpong serves as the official gateway to Arunachal Pradesh and is located on the banks of the beautiful Kameng River. Upon reaching Bhalukpong, travelers complete the mandatory Inner Line Permit (ILP) verification process before entering Arunachal Pradesh.

After check-in, spend the evening relaxing amidst nature. The soothing sound of the Kameng River, dense forests, and fresh mountain air create the perfect setting to unwind after your journey. Nature lovers can take a leisurely riverside walk while enjoying spectacular sunset views over the Eastern Himalayan foothills.

Overnight Stay: Bhalukpong

After breakfast, continue your ascent into the Eastern Himalayas towards Dirang. The route winds through dense forests, mountain roads, waterfalls, and picturesque valleys.

Upon reaching Dirang, visit the famous Dirang Monastery, a serene Buddhist monastery reflecting the spiritual traditions of the Monpa community. You may also visit the natural hot water springs that attract visitors seeking relaxation amidst nature.

After breakfast, begin one of the most memorable road journeys in India as you drive towards Tawang through dramatic Himalayan landscapes.

The road ascends steadily through alpine forests, high-altitude valleys, and snow-covered mountain ranges. Your first major stop is the spectacular Sela Pass, located at approximately 13,700 feet above sea level. Considered one of the highest motorable mountain passes in India, Sela Pass offers breathtaking panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and frozen landscapes.
