Wake up to a refreshing mountain morning and enjoy breakfast before heading out for one of the most iconic sightseeing experiences included in our North East India tour packages.

Your first stop is the breathtaking Tsomgo Lake, also known as Changu Lake, located around 38–40 km from Gangtok at an altitude of approximately 12,300 ft. Surrounded by steep snow-covered mountains, the glacial lake changes colors through the day and looks spectacular in every season. During winter, the lake often freezes and nearby slopes are covered in snow.

Continue onward to Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, a revered shrine dedicated to an Indian Army soldier whose legend remains deeply connected with the region. The drive becomes more dramatic as altitude increases, with panoramic Himalayan landscapes and army outposts lining the route.

Guests can also choose the optional Nathula Pass excursion (subject to permits and weather conditions). By evening, drive back to Gangtok and relax.

After breakfast, enjoy a beautiful day exploring Gangtok’s cultural and scenic attractions.

Begin with the peaceful Rumtek Monastery, one of the most important Buddhist monasteries in Sikkim. Surrounded by green hills and mountain views, Rumtek offers spiritual calm along with beautiful Tibetan Buddhist architecture.

Later proceed to Hanuman Tok, a serene temple perched high above the city with spectacular panoramic Himalayan views. On clear days, travelers can witness magnificent mountain landscapes stretching across the horizon.

Visit Tashi View Point, a popular stop known for incredible views of the Kanchenjunga range and the valleys below. It is one of Gangtok’s most photographed viewpoints.

Continue to the Flower Exhibition Centre, where colorful Himalayan flowers and seasonal blooms create a vibrant experience—especially during spring and early summer.

Evening is free again at MG Marg. Enjoy café hopping, street shopping, or simply relax with views of the mountains.

After breakfast, check out and begin your scenic drive from Gangtok to Darjeeling.

This route offers some of the most picturesque mountain views in the Eastern Himalayas. The road winds through forest-covered ridges, charming hill settlements, tea estates, and river valleys before gradually entering Darjeeling district.

Known worldwide for its tea and heritage charm, Darjeeling welcomes visitors with colonial-era architecture, mountain cafés, and dramatic Himalayan backdrops.

Check into your hotel and spend the evening exploring the local market or the Darjeeling Mall area. The relaxed vibe, cool weather, and mountain-town energy make Darjeeling a favorite in nearly every premium North East holiday package.

Start early before sunrise for one of the most magical experiences in the Northeast.

Drive to Tiger Hill, located around 11 km from Darjeeling. As dawn breaks, watch the first rays of sunlight illuminate the mighty Kanchenjunga peaks in golden-orange hues. On exceptionally clear days, even Mount Everest can be spotted in the distance.

On the return drive stop at Batasia Loop, famous for its spiral railway track, landscaped gardens, and panoramic mountain views.

Visit Ghoom Monastery, one of the oldest Tibetan monasteries in the region, known for its peaceful setting and Buddhist heritage.

Continue to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, an iconic destination celebrating India’s mountaineering legacy and Himalayan exploration.

Later visit Darjeeling’s world-famous tea gardens, where rolling green slopes and colonial tea estates create postcard-perfect scenery. Learn about Darjeeling tea culture and enjoy the fresh mountain air.

Spend the evening exploring cafés, bakeries, and local shopping areas.
